This Fried Fish In Delhi Is Actually A Vegetarian Dish And We’re Not Kidding

Yes, you read it right. In the world of fusion foods, another strange yet unique amalgamation is here. We all know for the fact that fish is a non-vegetarian delicacy. How can it be vegetarian? Well just like how once vegetarian omelets came into the trend. This dish was discovered in the city of food, Delhi. It might be made of plant-based meat or it’s something else molded into the shape of a fish, Let’s find out.

How This Dish Came Into The Limelight?

A video surfaced on the internet that ultimately left everyone confused. A vegetarian food blogger named foodie_incarnate shared a video on his Instagram. In the video, he showed a Delhi Vendor claiming that they make vegetarian fish from soya and ginger garlic batter.

The vendor can be seen claiming that this is a vegetarian dish but has the exact taste of non-vegetarian fish. After making dough in the shape of a fish from soy and ginger garlic, they dip it in corn flour. Next, they wrap the fish into corn flakes and deep fry it for 4-5 minutes. The vegetarian dish is then served with dips and garnished with cabbage and lemon. If you want to try this then hop on Khanna Tandoori Junction in East Delhi.

Amar Sirohi the blogger said that this mock meat preparation is just made of soy, and does not have ground wheat flour.

Made from ingredients like soy, tofu, quinoa, rice, wheat flour, and other proteins. It can be considered a substitute for meat for vegetarian people.
