In a remarkable development for India’s infrastructure landscape, this Indian city has emerged as the nation’s only city with 9 expressway connections. It has established itself as a pivotal transportation nucleus. If you’re thinking that it’s probably Mumbai, Bengaluru, or Delhi, think again. This historic city in Uttar Pradesh, strategically positioned near the National Capital Region or NCR, is witnessing an unprecedented transformation in road connectivity. Did you guess it correctly?
The Only Indian City With Connectivity Of 9 Expressways

Meerut Is At The Forefront Of Road Transport Revolution
This extensive network positions Meerut as a crucial junction for north Indian connectivity. The city’s strategic location near Delhi-NCR makes it an ideal hub for this infrastructure convergence. This is more so the case when combined with its robust industrial base.
The development is particularly significant under major government initiatives like the Bharatmala Pariyojana and Ganga Expressway Project. The impact of this connectivity is far-reaching. It promises to transform Meerut into a major logistics and warehousing hub.
It will also significantly reduce travel times across northern India. The city is becoming increasingly attractive for real estate investment, with improved accessibility making it a viable alternative to the more expensive Delhi-NCR region.
Despite challenges such as land acquisition and environmental concerns, Meerut’s emergence as India’s only nine-expressway hub marks a significant milestone in the country’s infrastructure development.
