Our recent episode of Sunday Brunch was doubly special because we met two legendary Bollywood actors, Shatrughan Sinha and Paresh Rawal. Known for their iconic roles that people are still not over, they are both truly masters of their craft. This Sunday Brunch included chai and chakhna at Ramayana, Shatrughan Sinha’s beautiful house in Mumbai. Our conversation with these veterans revolved around their journey in the Bollywood industry, their relationships with their family members, and a lot more. Both of them have enjoyed supremely successful careers as actors, and we were curious to know what success truly meant for them. Read on to learn what they shared.
Paresh Rawal And Shatrughan Sinha Shared Their Definitions Of Success
When Kamiya asked Paresh Rawal, when he looks back at his career, what does success truly mean to him, he shared, “Mujhe apne kaam se santushti milni chahiye.” For him, feeling satisfied with his own performance is the most important factor. While he believes that getting paid fairly is also an important thing, he does not consider it a parameter for his success.
He also believes that he always wants to work with good people. Because, in his opinion, after shooting for months, you don’t just take back home your paycheck, you also take back home a lot of things that you learn from them. Building on Paresh Rawal’s opinion, Shatrughan Sinha added that he, too, believes that satisfaction from your own work is one of the biggest parameters in deciding if you are successful or not. He also added that many people have different definitions of success.
Many people compare themselves with their contemporaries to decide if they are more or less successful than they are. Some people also decide based on how much money they have made. But for him, apart from the satisfaction from his work, earning respect is an important part.

This Is How Paresh Rawal Spends His Sundays
In this episode, we also found out how Paresh Rawal prefers to spend his Sundays. When Kamiya asked him if he chose not to work on a Sunday, he revealed that if given a choice, he would choose not to work all week. But yes, on Sunday, he likes to keep it light, and his friends often come over during the evenings. He also attends and participates in a lot of dramas on Sundays, so weekends look really exciting for him.
During the conversation, Shatrughan Sinha also praised Paresh Rawal’s theatre acting skills and revealed that there’s one of his dramas that he would like to replace him in. To know which one he’s referring to, watch the full episode on the Curly Tales YouTube channel.
