Titan’s ₹40 Lakh-Worth Jalsa Watch Is An Ode To Jaipur’s Hawa Mahal; It’s Studded With Gem Stones

Think Jalsa and Amitabh Bachchan won’t be the only thing to come to mind anymore. It will be Titan’s new ultra-luxury launch that’s priced at ₹40 lakh, a delicate and elegant symbol of Indian craftsmanship at its finest. Jalsa is a limited edition timepiece that comes from Titan’s watchmaking line, Nebula. With three years in the making, read on to know why Jalsa has created waves globally.

Titan Stuns With Jalsa, Its New Ultra-Luxurious Product

As per a report by CNBC-TV18, Jalsa is India’s official entry to the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) 2025. This is a globally acclaimed forum for fine watchmaking. One glance at the watch and you can’t take your eyes off the semblance of Rajput miniature painting. A Rajput regally seated on an elephant is being guided by a mahout with Jaipur’s Hawa Mahal, gleaming in the background. The watch is an ode to Hawa Mahal’s 225th anniversary this year. The design elements of Jalsa are inspired by Jaipur’s architecture and culture.

What makes the dial striking is that the Rajput painting on the dial is hand-painted by Padma Shri awardee Shakir Ali. He created the miniature artwork meticulously using natural gemstone pigments. The Hawa Mahal stands like a spectator, watching the royal procession pass by. Comprising 144 components and 14 jewels, the Titan watch has a sapphire crystal exhibition case back. And that’s not the only part of the watch that has sapphire. The watch hands are made of sapphire as well. Weighing 68 g, it’s encased in 18k rose gold.

Handpainted Rajput Mural On Dial, 18K Rose Gold & Sapphire Hands

Each piece of Jalsa will be hand-painted by Shakir Al, and there will be only 10 such pieces in the world, each costing ₹40.5 lakh. C.K. Venkataraman, MD, Titan proudly spoke about this development to CNBC-TV18. He called this Titan’s “big bet” to be a serious player in the global luxury watch segment. The team at Titan stretched itself to create something that can stand tall with the best luxury watches in the world.

While Titan entered the tourbillon movement with its Nebula range earlier, its Jalsa seals the deal. For long, the brand has appealed to customers in the ₹50,000–₹2 lakh price range. But C.K. Venkataraman believes that the appetite for higher-end watches exists. And with Titan leading from the front, we can only have higher expectations. While the Nebula line released watches priced at ₹7 onwards, Jals,a with a ₹40.5 lakh tag, has just made things interesting!
