Tourists Severely Injured After Ropeway Collide In Jharkhand

Accidents have become a common occurrence in India. In a tragic paragliding accident, a 23-year-old tourist from Telangana, Esha Reddy and her guide, Sandeep Gurung fell into a river and died in a tragic paragliding accident.  They lost balance due to strong winds and fell into the Lachung river after being swept away by string currents. Reddy and Gurung took off from Lachung View Point but unfortunately lost balance, fell into the river and died.After the paragliding incident, 10 people were injured after cable cars collided at Baba Baidyanath Temple in Jharkhand’s Deoghar. About 50 people were stuck in the ropeway and rescue operations were underway. The incident seemed to have occurred due to a technical glitch that led to the collision of cable cars.

Tourist, Helper Die In Himachal After Paraglider Losses Balance

A large number of adventure enthusiasts flock to the paragliding site at Bir Billing to enjoy the adventure sport. Bir Billing emerged as a popular paragliding site after the Paragliding World Cup in 2013. But is it safe enough to indulge in the sport here? In the past few years, the site has witnessed several accidents related to the activity or otherwise. In a recent one, the helper of a pilot and a tourist lost their lives due to paraglider imbalance.

The Accident Occurred Due To Paraglider Imbalance

The incident took place on March 8, 2022, at around 4:30 PM. The paraglider was taking off from the Bir Billing site carrying a tourist identified as Akash Aggarwal, according to PTI. 31-year-old Aggarwal hailed from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. A person named Vikas Kapoor was the pilot of the paraglider and 29-year-old Rakesh Kumar was his helper. As Kumar pushed the paraglider for takeoff, accidentally he got tangled. He went up in the air along with the paraglider and lost balance. He and Aggarwal fell down from a height of 25 to 30 feet and were dead on spot. The pilot has been admitted to the hospital, after sustaining injuries.

Cops Are Investigating The Incident

The authority has notified the families of the tourist and the helper about the incident. Also, a criminal investigation is underway. Cops are investigating the video footage of the incident. Also, they will check the logbook of the pilot to confirm his experience. Earlier, the father of a 12-year-old child who died at the paragliding site had raised a petition for adventure sports safety.
