Delhi is drenched. An incessant spell of rain has caused waterlogging in several parts of the city. Noida, Gurugram, and other regions nestled close to the national capital closed schools and colleges as the rains see no sign of stopping. Private institutions advised their employees to work from home to avoid traffic congestion. Here’s what you must know about the situation in Delhi.
Heavy Rains Lash Delhi & Nearby Regions
Incessant rains brought life to a standstill in the Delhi NCR region. In visuals posted by India Today, the Delhi-Gurugram expressway, witnessed heavy traffic than usual, due to rains. The heavy downpours left pedestrians with no option, but to navigate their way on waterlogged roads. Some areas near Delhi also reported a loss of lives and property. Dengue cases may also be on the rise due to heavy rains.

Schools & Colleges Shut Down For Safety
Many private schools in Delhi closed down for the safety of children and staff. They sent notices to parents, informing them of the same. Private institutions in Gurugram and Faridabad districts took similar measures. Haryana government directed offices in Gurugram to ask employees to work from home on September 23.
Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert in Delhi. It predicts light to moderate rains in the national capital for the next 2 to 3 days. Delhiites! We hope you stay safe during this concerning time.
