President Droupadi Murmu is set to launch three schemes for women at a mega event organised by the Delhi government on Monday at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium. During the event, the President will launch what will be called the Pink Card. Read on to know more about the card.
Delhi To Issue Pink Card For Women
According to the Hindustan Times, the programme titled Sashakt Nari Samriddh Delhi will be held today in Delhi. During the programme, the president will formally launch the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) for the women of the city, along with a free LPG cylinder scheme and the Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana.

What Is A Pink Card?
The pink card, to be provided under the NCMC initiative, will allow free travel for women residents on Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses. It will also enable seamless paid access to the Metro, the Regional Rapid Transit System, and other public transportation services through a single card.
Additionally, three types of NCMC cards will be issued under the scheme: the pink card for eligible women residents of Delhi, the blue card for general commuters and the orange card for monthly pass users. In the first phase, only the pink and blue cards will be launched for the public.
How To Get A Pink Card?
As per the Hindustan Times, the DTC has authorised Hindon Mercantile Limited and Airtel Payments Bank to issue these cards. The Pink Card will be provided free of cost to eligible women, with the entire cost to be borne by the government.
Around 50 centres will be set up for card issuance, including sub-divisional magistrate offices, district magistrates and a few DTC centres. The card will only be issued on the basis of a few documents for a swift and simple process. Each card will be linked to the person’s mobile number and Aadhaar.
What Is The Eligibility To Issue A Pink Card?
- The applicant must be a female Delhi resident.
- The applicant must be a woman or transgender person aged 12 years or above.
- A valid ID proof (Aadhaar Card or Voter ID) is required.
- Proof of Delhi residential address is also required.
Not only this, but President Draupadi Murmu is also set to launch a scheme to provide two free LPG cylinders annually to all ration card-holding families in Delhi on holidays like Holi and Diwali.
