Dubai International Airport Achieves Record-Breaking Footfall Of 70.1 M Guests So Far In 2025!

Dubai International Airport is known for its seamless service to visitors. As a result, it’s not surprising that the footfall keeps increasing every year. And once again, it has achieved record-breaking figures! Yes, as revealed by the Dubai Media Office, Dubai International Airport revealed that record 70.1 million passengers have already passed through its terminal this year.

Record 70.1 M Passengers Pass Through Dubai International Airport

These extraordinary figures were from January to September, as revealed in a report of the Dubai Media Office. As a result, a new benchmark for global aviation has been set! Dubai International Airport also revealed that there is a surge in its traffic, which reflects the rise of Dubai as a destination and one of the busiest transit hubs in the world.

A Year-On-Year Increase For 2025

Additionally, it must be noted that this is a year-on-year rise of 2% for the first nine months of 2025, as compared to the previous year for the same period. It was also revealed in the same report that for quarterly traffic, which is Q3 in 2025, the airport mentioned welcomed 24.2 million guests. This was between July and September, and it saw a 1.9% increase on a year-on-year basis. This is truly an important milestone as it shows how central the airport has become in the post-pandemic travel recovery.

92 M Passengers Passed Through The Airport In 2024

This is truly important as the rising footfall shows how central the airport has become to post-pandemic travel recovery, as reviewed in a report by NDTV Travel. In fact, it was just last year when 92 million passengers had passed through the airport. With 70.1 million already logged in, it seems that the airport is once again back on track for another record-breaking year.

This rise in its footfall is also paving the way for Al Maktoum International Airport, which is also known as DWC or the Dubai World Central. With Dubai International Airport already operating close to its capacity, DWC is being developed as a much larger next-generation hub. This will eventually handle far more passengers than Dubai International Airport. Complete with long-term plans that include hundreds of kids, multiple runways and enough space to support future growth, it’s truly going to be a hub that you cannot miss checking out once it opens.
