On Thursday, Air India took to its official X account to issue a travel advisory for passengers. The airline warned of possible delays on flights overflying the region. The reason is the closure of Iran’s airspace due to the ongoing situation. Flights that usually pass through the region will now take alternative routes, which may impact flight timings. Air India said the step is being taken to ensure passenger safety.
The airline has advised flyers to check the status of their flights on its website before leaving for the airport. At the end of the advisory, Air India wrote, “Air India regrets the inconvenience caused to passengers due to this unforeseen disruption. Safety of our passengers and crew remains top priority.”

Similarly, IndiGo also issued a travel advisory following the sudden airspace closure by Iran. The airline said that some of its international flights are impacted due to the situation. IndiGo added that its teams are working “diligently to assess the situation and minimise inconvenience to passengers.” Apart from issuing a travel advisory, IndiGo also announced that affected passengers can explore flight rebooking options or claim a refund, depending on their preference.

SpiceJet also took to its official X account and wrote, “Some of our flights may be affected.” They advised passengers to keep a close eye on their flight status. The airline said travellers can contact its 24×7 reservation helpline ( numbers for assistance if required. They also provided the contact number: +91 (0)124 4983410 or +91 (0)124 7101600.
According to a report by LiveMint, on Wednesday, the Ministry of External Affairs strongly advised Indian citizens to avoid travelling to Iran until further notice. The advisory comes amid rising tensions and protests in the country.
