If you’re an animal lover, this one is for you! India’s first national ‘cow culture’ museum is set to open in Mathura soon. The museum will come up on the campus of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Veterinary Science University, where land for the project has already been earmarked. Here’s what we know so far.

India’s First Cow Culture Museum To Come Up In Uttar Pradesh?

According to Hindustan Times, as part of an initiative of the Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad, India will soon have its first cow culture museum in Mathura. On Saturday, after a meeting of district and Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad officials, this announcement was made to the public.

The Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad, established to preserve the heritage of the Braj region, said in a statement that the proposed museum aims to highlight the religious, cultural, and spiritual significance of cows. It also seeks to educate the public about their scientific and practical importance. According to Agra divisional commissioner Nagendra Pratap, this cow culture museum in Uttar Pradesh will blend tradition and science, fostering a holistic understanding of cow conservation across the country.

Here’s What We Know So Far

As per the report, the upcoming museum will have more than 100 digital and physical models of cattle on display, including all major cattle breeds found in India along with the endangered ones. The idea is to educate the future generations about India’s rich cow heritage.

Another key attraction at the museum will be a live exhibition dedicated to cow milk and its by-products. Visitors will get to learn about their nutritional value and Ayurvedic benefits through modern display techniques. According to the Hindustan Times report, authorities also plan to set up dairy parlours within the premises, allowing visitors to purchase pure dairy products.
