Taking to her social media handle, Kamiya Jani revealed that she was locked at the aerobridge in Mumbai airport for two hours. In her post, she mentioned that last month, while happily boarding a flight for her one-day trip, she suddenly received an emergency call from her family and decided not to go ahead with her travel plan. But what the airport staff did in response to her decision was not what she expected.
She explained that once a passenger passes the boarding gate, there is generally no option to cancel or skip the flight, especially if they are already inside the aircraft. However, Kamiya did not board the flight. After explaining her situation to the staff for some time, she was finally allowed to not take the flight—but with a twist. She was asked to remain inside the aerobridge until the flight landed at its destination. The flight was going to land at its destination in two hours, and till then she had to spend her time at the bridge.

Why Was She Asked To Wait In The Aerobridge?
In the post, Kamiya also revealed the reason why she was asked to stay in the aerobridge at the Mumbai airport. It was actually because of a simple safety rule. The airport staff made sure that she did not board the flight and the idea behind this is to ensure that no explosives or threat are present on the aircraft. Later, Kamiya was escorted to a waiting area by the staff, where she had to write a letter stating her issue. Once the flight landed at its destination, she was allowed to leave.
She added that this is not a punishment but a security measure. With this step, airport staff ensure that the flight operates safely. It helps protect all passengers and keeps the journey smooth for everyone on board.
