X User Lists What Works Well On Mumbai Metro Line 3

Mumbai Metro Line 3 became fully operational in October. Since then, the metro has gained attention online for several reasons. From its state-of-the-art stations to modern facilities and amazing speed, the Aqua Line has remained in the spotlight. An X user shared their first impression after travelling on Mumbai Metro Line 3. The post focused on what worked well and what did not during the journey.

The user began the post by writing, “First ride on Line 3 and you can sense it. Mumbai has entered a new phase,” followed by a detailed review. According to the user, the metro’s speed stood out the most. They mentioned reaching Girgaon from Sahar Road in just 30 minutes! The user also praised the infrastructure, clean stations, clear signage, and easy navigation. Affordable fares, comfortable AC temperature, closed doors for safer travel, and the absence of loud music and hawkers were also listed as positives in the post. They further appreciated that eating is not allowed inside the coaches, stating that it “helps keep things clean.”

What Did Not Work Well

While the user highlighted several positives, they also pointed out things that need improvement. One problem was the area outside the Sahar Metro station. The user noted litter, puddles, illegal parking, and spit stains on station walls near the elevator. They also expressed disappointment over frequent audio announcements, calling them “excessive and distracting.”

As expected, netizens had mixed reactions. One user wrote, “No comments on internet connectivity? What are people going to do for 30 minutes without internet?” Another wrote, “Mumbai Aqua Line (Metro Line 3) is a world-class project and the only one truly comparable to Delhi Airport Metro. It restores hope that high-quality transit systems are still possible in Mumbai.” One X user also suggested that the user should review Mumbai’s local trains next.
