Uttar Pradesh Tourism Announces Two Citizen Campaigns
It seems like Uttar Pradesh Tourism has found an interesting way to mark World Heritage Day this year. Officials have announced two campaigns called ‘UP Heritage Through My Lens’ and ‘Share Your Personal Treasure’. According to United News of India, the first campaign encourages participants to capture lesser-known heritage sites through photographs and short videos or reels. This can include local temples, stepwells, traditional market streets, forts, and shrines of community significance. Entries must focus on architecture, rituals, and local culture.
The second campaign, ‘Share Your Personal Treasure’, asks people to submit a tangible object of personal or family significance with a short story. This can include old coins, handwritten letters, traditional jewellery, heirloom utensils, and preserved vintage photographs. Both these campaigns sound super interesting, right?

Selected Entries To Be Displayed At State Museum
Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh shared with United News of India that World Heritage Week is not just about celebrating monuments but also about recognising the deeper culture that defines us. Through these initiatives, they hope the younger generation can engage with heritage in their own way.
Reportedly, top entries will win special prizes. Some selected submissions from the ‘Personal Treasure’ category will also be displayed at the State Museum. The last date to submit entries for both campaigns is April 18, 2026. Participants can register through the official website of Uttar Pradesh Tourism.
