Travelling To UAE, Qatar, Maldives & Sri Lanka By IndiGo? Here’re The Latest Guidelines

As countries opened up their borders, IndiGo re-started flights to Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Kuwait City, Male, Muscat, Dhaka Bangladesh, and Colombo. However, the airline has listed city-wise guidelines for its international passengers. IndiGo has warned that passengers not complying with government regulations will be denied boarding the flight. If you have an international flight booked with IndiGo, here’s everything you need to know. 

1. UAE

Passengers travelling to UAE must have a valid Covid‑19 test taken within 48 hours before departure. Passengers must also undergo a Covid‑19 PCR testing on arrival in Dubai, followed by two other PCR tests on the fourth and eighth day of the quarantine period. They must also sign an indemnity document for a 10‑day quarantine, starting from the day of arrival. Airlines Restart Flight Bookings From New Delhi To Dubai; First Flight Expected On July 15.

2. Qatar

Qatar has mandated RT-PCR tests for travellers from India and transit through India. The test should be done 48 hours prior to the travel.The RT-PCR report should be printed and not hand-written, with a QR code embedded. Passengers must get the test done from an ICMR-certified lab. Besides, passengers arriving from India must also undergo mandatory 10-days quarantine in a dedicated quarantine facility.

However, eligible Indians travelling to Doha from India can skip the quarantine if they are vaccinated with both doses of the WHO-approved Covishield vaccine. The vaccination must be done at least 14 days before the departure. But the showing of negative RT-PCR report still remains mandatory for travelling. Take note, visa on arrival (VoA) is not available now. So, the visas must be pre-approved. Besides, all travellers are required to download and activate the ‘Ehteraz’ mobile application that requires a domestic Qatari SIM card. Only after activating this application, they can visit malls, restaurants, museums, or use taxis or public transportation.

3. Kuwait

All passengers travelling to Kuwait should download and register on the Kuwait Mosafer App, else boarding will be denied boarding at the origin airport. Passengers will also have to undergo two RT-PCR tests upon arrival at their own cost through the Kuwait Mosafer App. For Ministry of Health staff and private sector medical employees, ‘OK To Board Comment’ should be inserted in the PNR. Spouse and children of MOH staff should the latter’s passport copy and other supporting documents. A negative RT-PCR test report in printed form is also a must.

4. Maldives

Passengers travelling to the Maldives from India need to carry a negative COVID-19 PCR test report before entry to the island nation. A tweet by Ministry of Tourism, Maldives reads, “#Maldives will restart issuing of on-arrival tourist visa starting 15th July to tourists travelling from South Asia. 5. Sri Lanka

Passengers allowed to fly from India to Colombo in Sri Lanka include Sri Lankan nationals and residents, businessmen, Indian healthcare professionals, engineers, and technicians. Passengers should submit a completed Health Declaration Form to the staff of the Airport Health Office at Health Counters. They are permitting transit via Sri Lanka if the connecting flight is within 10 hours of arrival. Furthermore, travellers who have received a complete dose of the vaccine may be exempted from testing and quarantine restrictions.
