As per the NDTV report, with over 10,000 Air Canada flight attendants on strike, there was a major air travel disruption all over the world. The strike was caused over issues including wages and unpaid ground work. The regulatory tribunal ordered the attendants to return to work from Sunday, but the union leader denied it. Due to this, the airline had to shut down all its operations.

On Monday evening, the union leader again negotiated with Air Canada, and during this, they reached to a tentative agreement. Before finalising the union leader decided to discuss the agreement with members and decide whether to accept the new deal. The CUPE Air Canada branch released a statement on Facebook and said, “The strike has ended. We have a tentative agreement we will bring forward to you.”

Airline To Restart Its Services

Air Canada has confirmed that the union and the airline have reached a tentative agreement, and with this, flight attendants will return to work. The airline announced that some flights resumed on Tuesday evening, but full service will be restored in the next seven to ten days. The strike has caused major losses and forced the airline to cancel thousands of flights in the last three days.

NDTV reported that, due to the cancellation of flights, many passengers had to reschedule their plans. Both parties have now agreed to a tentative agreement is a significant step towards resolving the labour dispute. The exact details of the agreement are still not shared yet. The airline has advised its passengers to check the flight schedule and has promised that it will restore full service in the next few days.

We hope that the issue resolves soon and normalcy is restored.
