Body-shaming is one of the most talked-about issues, and no one wants to be judged for being too fat or too thin. A Bengaluru man (Prior_Customer_4240) shared on Reddit that Subko The Craftery did not use his name on the bill. Instead, the receipt reportedly described him as “Little fat black shirt.” He shared a photo of the bill and questioned why the staff chose to describe him by his body type instead of using his name, table number or order details.

The customer was deeply disappointed because he felt this was not simply a mistake. According to him, someone at the cafe had looked at him, noticed his body type and deliberately entered “fat” to identify him in the system. He also pointed out that if a woman had been described by her body in the same way, people would likely not dismiss it as a harmless joke.

Subko The Craftery took to social media to issue a public apology. The cafe confirmed that a customer at its Koramangala outlet was identified by their body type on the printed bill instead of their name.

In its apology post, the cafe said, “Today, we’re not addressing this because it’s gone viral. It hasn’t, yet. We know that publishing this could give it more attention than it currently has. But we’re posting this because it genuinely bothered us. Taught us how far we have to go. And accountability is more important to us than sheltering ourselves from judgement when our team member was unequivocally in the wrong.”

The cafe also said that it had reached out to the customer to apologise. Subko added that it is changing the way customer details are recorded in its system to prevent such incidents in the future.
