We come bearing good news for travel lovers! The European Commission has unveiled plans to connect remote cities of Europe with a new high-speed train network, making travel faster and smoother across the continent. The first lines are expected to be operational by 2030, with more routes to follow by 2040. Scroll on to know more about this.
Europe To Get A New-High Speed Train By 2040
We have either seen in movies or experienced in person how trains connect several famous cities across Europe. However, high-speed trains are limited to popular cities of Spain, France, Italy and Germany. This will change soon! According to Euronews, Europe is set to revolutionise train travel with a new €550 billion high-speed rail network by 2040.
With this new plan, the EU aims to connect cities across Central and Eastern Europe through high-speed trains–enhancing connectivity, cutting travel times, and making train journeys across the continent more affordable. The project aims to make train travel affordable and faster for travellers.
