Authorities have now unveiled new rules regarding VIP darshan, mobile phones, and helicopter services ahead of the sacred yatra. VIP Darshan Restricted Ahead Of Char Dham Yatra 2026 

The Char Dham Yatra is a revered Hindu pilgrimage in Uttarakhand that includes visiting four holy shrines like Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. The yatra for this year is all set to begin on April 19. According to The New Indian Express, Uttarakhand has now unveiled stricter rules aimed at streamlining operations, ensuring the safety of devotees, and preserving the sanctity of these temples.

The most important rule revolves around the VIP darshan system at Kedarnath Dham. From now on, VIP access will be strictly given only to individuals covered under official government protocols. All other visitors, regardless of their status, will have to stand in the general queue. This will ensure a fair experience for everyone. Moreover, this system will also reduce waiting time and offer a more meaningful darshan experience.

Safer Helicopter Services Planned

You should also know that the temple administration has implemented a complete ban on mobile phones, photography, and vlogging inside the temple premises. Officials believe these activities can cause chaos at the site. According to The New Indian Express, several helicopter operators with a history of crashes have not been allowed to operate this year. The contract has been given to new firms with strong safety records and pilots having over 750 hours of flight experience.

Reportedly, the Disaster Management Department has also sanctioned over ₹700 crore to improve travel routes. All these new reforms aim to make Char Dham Yatra 2026 more meaningful for devotees and ensure visitor safety, so they can come, seek blessings, and return with a better experience.
