The Telugu superstar is bringing his venture AMB Cinemas to Namma Bengaluru on January 16. If you’ve needed an extra nudge to leave the comfort of your home for an immersive theatrical experience, then this is your sign!
Hyderabad-Based AMB Cinemas Arrives In Bengaluru
AMB Cinemas, the celebrity-owned venture, is well-known in Hyderabad for its plush seating, immersive screens and clear yet booming soundscapes. This time, Mahesh Babu has something special for Bengaluru. South India’s first-ever Dolby Cinema experience will make its debut in the ‘Silicon Valley of India’ on Friday, January 16. Moreover, Mahesh Babu himself is expected to attend the launch.
As per a report by Gulte.com, India is home to only one Dolby Vision screen. And that’s located in Pune. Bengaluru’s AMB Kapali installation will be India’s second Dolby Cinema screen and the first in South India. Blending Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, Dolby Cinema is a premium large-format theatre concept. Audiences can also expect a specialised auditorium design with a touch of luxury. AMB Cinema’s Dolby Cinema is touted to be a worthy competitor to IMAX and other high-end formats.

Mahesh Babu Brings Dolby Cinema To South India
Located in Gandhi Nagar, AMB Cinemas Kapali features nine advanced screens. This includes a 60-foot-wide Dolby Cinema screen, the second-largest of its kind in India. On Makar Sankranti, January 14, Mahesh Babu took to X to make the announcement.
He wrote, “The doors formally open at AMB Cinemas in Bengaluru on Jan 16th with South India’s first Dolby Cinema experience! Extremely proud of TEAM AMB for putting in an extraordinary effort to see this through … Looking forward to seeing u all very soon in Namma Bengaluru…”
The actor turned entrepreneur in 2019 with a partnership with Asian Cinemas. That was his entry into the multiplex business. Furthermore, AMB Cinemas has maintained a good track record in Hyderabad for over six years. With this Bengaluru expansion, Mahesh Babu brings AMB Cinemas into the premises of the city’s historic Kapali Theatre.
