Domino's diet coke tip

There’s nothing wrong with taking a moment from our busy schedule for an act of kindness. Sometimes, small gestures can change lives. That’s exactly what happened to Dan Simpson, a 68-year-old Domino’s delivery driver from Boise, Idaho. A simple delivery of Diet Coke ended up changing his life. Here’s the full story!

Domino’s Driver Goes Extra Mile To Deliver Diet Coke

One busy Friday night, Dan was out delivering pizzas when he realized the store had run out of the customer’s Diet Coke. Instead of skipping it or swapping it with another drink, he decided to take action. Even though the customer didn’t answer his call, Dan stopped at a nearby grocery store and bought the drinks himself. He then delivered everything with a smile.

NDTV reported that the customer, Brian Wilson, captured the moment on a doorbell camera and later shared the video on TikTok. The video quickly went viral, gathering millions of views and thousands of comments.

Brian shared on GoFundMe, “It was a busy Friday night, and Dan still went out of his way to help us. That kind of care is rare these days.” In the video, Brian tried to tip Dan more than the usual $6, but Dan just smiled and said, “No need, this is a good tip.”

What made Dan’s effort even more special? According to NDTV, Brian later revealed that he and his wife are visually impaired, so running a quick errand to the store isn’t easy for them. Dan’s small act ended up helping them in a way he didn’t even realize.

Touched by his kindness, Brian launched a GoFundMe to support Dan as he neared retirement. People from all over the world donated, and within days, the fundraiser crossed $43,250, around Rs 40 lakh. Dan couldn’t believe it. “I kept thinking, ‘Is this for real? Maybe it’s a scam,’” he laughed.

Even with all the attention, Dan stayed grounded. “I don’t think I work any harder than anyone else,” he said. “I just try to be a good person and help where I can, because I know what it feels like to struggle.”

With retirement only weeks away, Dan is dreaming about travel, but for now, he’s happy to keep delivering pizzas, and spreading kindness along the way.
