Travel is amazing, but travelling with friends is an experience altogether different, especially for women. When planning trips, safety is always a priority. Women have to consider destinations based on their safety carefully. However, one woman with the username @Historical_Ball_5948 shared her experience of Kerala in a viral Reddit post, highlighting how safe it felt.
Though this wasn’t her first trip to Kerala, this time she visited with a friend and mentioned that they never felt unsafe. In her Reddit post, she shared many beautiful pictures from her trip and said that the locals were helpful and respectful, never smaking her feel uncomfortable by staring at them. She said, “Not once it felt like we were unsafe.”
Despite facing some language barriers, the locals made an effort to communicate in whatever Hindi they knew. This time, she explored Suryanelli, Thekkady, Alappuzha, and Kochi. (She previously travelled to Varkala, Trivandrum, and Kovalam in 2023.) As per her Reddit post, she wrote, “Both my visits to Kerala, I felt safe, secure, and protected.”

A Destination Which Is Safe And Clean
The female traveller also added that Kerala not only felt safe for women but was also exceptionally clean. She also pointed out that Kerala has something for everyone, ensuring no traveller ever feels bored. The Reddit user appreciated the state’s cleanliness and fresh air, concluding her post by writing, “I hope the best for Kerala and the rest of India. May every woman who travels never feel the burden of uncertainty in terms of her own safety.” Her post quickly went viral on Reddit, sparking comments from users sharing their own thoughts.
One Reddit user wrote, “Visit Meghalaya – you’ll get the same vibe.” Another added, “I have lived in Kerala for 8 long years. Absolutely loved the people, weather and place. I never spoke Malayalam ever in my life there because I couldn’t learn it, but I never faced any issues of any kind.” Many users praised the photos she shared, calling them beautiful, and honestly, the pictures were breathtaking.
Another user, who might be planning a trip to Kerala, commented, “The pictures look so good. Would you be so kind as to share your itinerary and overall cost? I’m planning to go there with my fiancé this year. Happy Travelling.”
