Indian Railways Worker Seen Dumping Garbage On Tracks In Viral Video; Gets Fired

This is what happened when a passenger recorded an Indian Railways worker dumping bags full of garbage on the railway tracks mid-journey. The incident sparked widespread anger among netizens, who questioned the waste disposal practices by the authorities. Indian Railways has also responded to the matter. Here’s what happened.

A passenger, Abhishek Singh Parmar, who goes by the username @abhiscosmoss, recently shared a video on Instagram that quickly went viral. The clip shows an Indian Railways worker filling large black trash bags with garbage and then dumping them carelessly on the railway tracks while the train was moving.

Abhishek mentioned that the incident took place on November 4 while he was travelling on the Sealdah Ajmer SF Express. The passenger questioned the worker, telling him that by cleaning the train, he was making the country dirty. To this, the worker replied, “Toh main isse ghar par le jaun?” (Am I supposed to take this garbage home?).

Of course, this is not how cleanliness practices should work on trains. Abhishek said the worker was not ready to understand his point and instead kept throwing more garbage bags onto the tracks.

Indian Railways Takes Immediate Action

Abhishek Singh Parmar also tagged Indian Railways and asked them to look into the matter. The authorities responded quickly and stated that the worker, Sanjay Singh, was on contract and had been removed with immediate effect. In addition to this, the authorities clarified that they have started a special drive to educate OBHS (On-Board Housekeeping Service) staff on proper waste disposal methods at nominated stations. This move aims to prevent such incidents in the future.

It’s good to see that the authorities took immediate action instead of overlooking the issue. Netizens were equally angered by the video. One user wrote, “I just wonder why nobody needs to stop him? Why are we constantly just observing such crimes against India? Anything that happens, we just watch.” Another commented, “What is going on!! Is this how we become a Swachh Bharat?”
