In India or any other country, Pokémon has always been a favourite cartoon. We would always wait for the episodes and even rewatch the old ones without getting tired. Japan To Launch World’s First Pokémon-Inspired Airport
In Japan, the Noto Satoyama Airport in the Noto Peninsula is all set to get a full-on Pokémon transformation. The airport will reopen on July 7, 2026, with a new name, “Noto Satoyama Pokémon With You Airport.” However, this transformation is not for a lifetime but will be available for a limited time, until September 30, 2029.
As per NDTV, the project is a joint effort between the Ishikawa Prefectural Government and the Pokémon With You Foundation. It aims to help boost tourism again and bring positivity to the region after the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake. It mainly focuses on lifting the mood of local people, especially children who were affected by the disaster.

Inside Japan’s Newly Transformed Airport
With the new transformation, the airport will get a complete makeover and will look like this. The airport’s new logo will combine Pikachu, Poké Balls, and the shape of the Noto Peninsula. The exterior of the building will feature large Pokémon-themed designs. Inside, the entrance pillars will showcase popular Pokémon characters. Even the airport signage will have redesigned Pokémon-style visuals.
One of the biggest highlights of this makeover is the large two-storey atrium, which will feature a giant balloon display of Pikachu riding an airplane. Many Pokémon will surround this centrepiece.
The airport will also display meaningful artwork that shares a message of recovery. One artwork called “A Bright Future” will focus on hope and rebuilding. Another piece named “Sky of Hope” will be displayed across the airport. It will show Pokémon flying in bright skies with rainbows and light.
Not only interiors, but visitors will also enjoy Pokémon-themed food and shopping. On the third floor, Restaurant Annon will serve special menu items inspired by Pokémon. These include two types of Pokémon pancakes and two themed drinks. Customers ordering combo meals will also receive collectible placemats. On the second floor, the Serendipity shop will sell exclusive merchandise. Items will include T-shirts, keychains, luggage tags, suitcase belts, and “Sky of Hope” collectibles.
As a Pokémon lover, I’m definitely excited for this airport launch!
