Social media is not just a place to drop selfies, recipes, motivation videos, and more. It is also a place where unnecessary drama can be created without understanding the full situation. A few seconds of a clip or a single screenshot is enough to mislead people. Recently, a woman posted a photo of a restaurant bill with a massive figure. Moreover, she tried to rage-bait everyone into believing it was insanely expensive. But the internet did not fall for it. Here’s what actually happened.
Woman Tries To Rage-Bait With Lunch Bill
Taking to her X handle (@kushika_twt) posted a photo of a lunch bill that quickly went viral all over social media. She posted a picture with the caption, “3.71 lakh bill just for lunch ?” In the bill, the prices looked shocking at first glance, with an aloo paratha for 77,ooo, plain yoghurt for 60,000, paneer paratha for 90,ooo, kadak chai for 65,ooo, and a water bottle fr 50,000.
However, soon netizens figured out that the bill was not from any restaurant in India, but from Tadka Indian Restaurant in Vietnam. The name of the restaurant was mentioned just below the bill amount. The prices on the bill were in Vietnamese Dong, not Indian Rupees. When converted to Indian currency, the real cost of the food was much lower than it first appeared, showing that the viral screenshot had caused unnecessary confusion.
Internet Schools Her In Comments Section
The photo of a bill showing a lunch amount of 3.71 lakh has caught the attention of many users online. Many started schooling the X user on how to read the amount in Indian rupees.
One user wrote, “Kya time pass hai ye. I can show a bill in Indonesian rupiah, and it will look even more expensive.”
Another user wrote, “This bill looks like it’s from a restaurant in Hanoi, Vietnam, so obviously it will be in Vietnamese Dong. The figure of 3,71,660 Vietnamese Dong is roughly equivalent to INR 1,200–1,250. So what’s the problem here?”
One user added, “Fools are everywhere. 3.71 lakh Vietnamese Dong is just 1,251 Indian rupees.”
