Switzerland is a dream destination for many people because of its breathtaking alpine landscapes, the Swiss Alps, deep valleys and more. But yes, the destination is highly expensive for tourists, and even the food there costs a lot of money. But a content creator has now shared some amazing tips that can help you save money on a Switzerland trip.

How To Save Money On Your Switzerland Trip?

Bollywood movies have romanticised Swiss landscapes so much that every person in India wants to visit Switzerland at least once in their lives. But due to its amazing travel infrastructure, the place is one of the most expensive tourist spots in the world. But there are some ways you can actually save money on your trip.

A content creator, Payal (@travel.with.payal), recently shared a video telling her followers that food and accommodation in Switzerland are quite expensive. But she shared some useful tips that helped her save money. The first tip was not to buy the ‘Swiss Travel Pass’. According to Payal, some point-to-point tickets, Saver Day Passes or regional passes can be cheaper. Plus, there are discounts on trains too.

The second tip is to choose a hotel outside popular tourist spots but close to a train station. Hotels at tourist spots are going to be expensive and crowded, while hotels in lesser-known places would be cheaper. It can help you save a lot on your trip. She also suggested booking your accommodation early, as last-minute bookings can get very expensive.

Tips To Save Money On Food

Payal also shared some tips on how to cut down on food and water expenses. According to her, Migros and Coop are great for affordable meals. Food in Switzerland is super expensive, but at Migros and Coop, you can easily pick up affordable meals, snacks and drinks.

Payal also suggested carrying instant snacks or ready-to-eat items from home. This can help you save money on breakfast. For water, you can carry a bottle and refill it from taps that dispense clean water.

Payal then came to the most important tip: tourist activities in Switzerland, for which most people spend a lot of money. You actually do not need to do every expensive mountain activity or go on every gondola ride. These activities can be overhyped and expensive. Instead, you can pick two or three experiences that matter to you the most. At last, Payal mentioned that you don’t have to try to make your Switzerland trip cheap. Instead, stop making every decision an expensive one.
