Saudi Arabia and Qatar signed a historic rail project. Yes, this agreement to assign to implement a high-speed, electric passenger rail project that connects the two nations. Signed by the Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics, the new high-speed luxury train would connect Riyadh and Doha with major stops along the way.

Recently, an agreement was signed between the two nations of Saudi Arabia and Qatar for a high-speed railway. This would be a 785 km railway connecting Riyadh and Doha! Additionally, with stops at Hofuf and Dammam, the train is also going to link the King Salman International Airport and the Hamad International Airport.

As mentioned in a report of the National News, the train link has been designed in such a way that it operates at a speed exceeding 300 km/h. The train will reduce travel time between the two capitals to just two hours. As a result, it’s bound to enhance mobility and even facilitate trade and tourism.

The Link Would Stretch 785 Km

The report also mentioned how the project is going to create 30,000 direct and indirect jobs! Once the railway is complete, it is projected to contribute about SAR115 billion to the combined GDP of both nations. Did you know that the network is projected to carry more than 10 million passengers annually? With the link stretching 785 km, it is bound to create a profound impact on the movement of people, trade, and tourism. Besides linking Doha and Riyadh directly, several key Saudi cities, as mentioned above, will also be linked.

Truly a turning point in mobility, it is going to move beyond conventional transport routes, thereby raising the overall quality of life through smoother movement.
