Amusement parks offer a variety of rides that come with their own set of risks. However, it turned out to be a nightmare for visitors as they saw a swing ride collapse in an amusement park in the Saudi city of Tabuk. According to a report of the Gulf News, this ride was seen falling from a low height with several visitors present at the site. As a result, it created confusion and fear amongst families and others.

Ride Collapses In Tabuk

Talking the video footage that is being shared widely on social media, Gulf News mentions that when the ride struck the ground, it triggered panic among park visitors. As can be seen from the video, visitors rushed to check those who are onboard. According to the local reports, as quoted in the news, this incident resulted in minor injuries to two girls. Yes, the report mentions how the injuries of the girls were light and did not require ambulance assistance. As such, the family members, however, transported them directly from the amusement park for medical attention.

Relevant bodies Have Launched Investigation

In light of the incident, the news report mentioned that the relevant bodies have already launched an investigation. This is for determining the cause of the incident and assessing if the safety standards and maintenance procedures were properly followed. However, further details are expected once the investigation is complete, as further mentioned in the same report.

A Tragic Accident In Taif Last Year

Just the previous year, the Saudi Authorities suspended two entertainment events in the Riyadh region. Yes, as mentioned by Okaz Daily, the General Entertainment Authority had reported safety concerns with inflatable games featured at the sites. This decision had come in the wake of the tragic accident at the Green Mountain Amusement Park in Taif. The accident had occurred when the ride was operational, and it fell with a massive thump, with the riders still onboard. A 360-degree ride had collapsed, which killed one woman and injured 22 others.
