Passenger Reports Severe Allergic Reaction After Vande Bharat Meal

Taking to her social media handle, The_Mediocre_Fille (@AyushiS54377868) shared her food experience on the Vande Bharat Express. She, along with her two-year-old son, was travelling on Vande Bharat 22500 in the E1 coach on March 27, 2026. In her post, she revealed that they had lunch on the train, which ended up affecting their health. She also shared a photo of her face, which was severely swollen due to an allergic reaction. According to doctors, the condition could have been life-threatening.

As for her son, he also suffered from diarrhoea. In her post, she requested the Indian Railways authorities to look into the matter on a priority basis. She also shared that water also tasted different. The incident has left many shocked, seeing how the food on the train affected both the mother’s and her son’s health.

IRCTC Responds To The Food Quality Complaint

However, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) responded by declining the claim. Their comment read, “Lunch on Train No. 22500 BSB-DGHR Vande Bharat Express (Coach E1) on 27.03.2026 was checked and found satisfactory. No other complaints were received regarding the quality, hygiene, or safety of the food on that day.”

The viral post has raised concerns about the food served on the Vande Bharat Express. The comments section saw mixed reactions from users.

One comment read, “This could also be an allergic reaction to medication, such as tinidazole or metronidazole.”

Another user added, “This is too disappointing to see. Please take accountability @IRCTCofficial.”

A third user commented, “Ma’am, kindly undergo an allergy skin test. Behind every packaged item, there is an allergy warning for allergens like peanuts, curd, soya, etc. Allergy is purely a personal issue. My father suffers from it and avoids outside food, and carries anti-allergy medicines with him.”
