Mumbai Metro Line 9 extends from Dahisar East to Bhayandar West through the Mira-Bhayandar area. According to Metro Rail News, the ongoing trial includes four stations—Dahisar East, Pandurang Wadi, Miragaon, and Kashigaon. This metro aims to reduce dependence on crowded suburban trains and traffic-heavy roads. The corridor connects to the operational Metro Line 7. It also offers future linkage to Line 7A, which will connect to Mumbai Airport Terminal 2.

Commuters in Mira-Bhayandar will gain faster access to the rest of Mumbai. The metro line will offer smoother and safer travel options every day.
Advanced Infrastructure To Support Growing Demand
According to Swarajya Magazine, Mumbai Metro Line 9 includes a unique double-decker bridge. This carries road traffic below and metro above. This structure is the first of its kind in the region. The complete corridor will span 13.5 km and include 10 elevated stations. As of May 2025, 96.7% of construction is complete. The MMRDA also plans to set up a new depot in Mira-Bhayandar for train maintenance.
These upgrades will ensure reliable service and long-term benefits for commuters.
Commercial Launch Expected By Year-End 2025
As reported by The Indian Express, the trial phase is a key step before full operations begin. Final safety checks and certifications remain pending. The MMRDA expects to begin full commercial services on Mumbai Metro Line 9 by late 2025. The corridor will boost connectivity, reduce pollution, and support the city’s expanding transport needs.
