Tansa And Modaksagar Dams Near Mumbai Lit Up With Tricolour Lights

As India gears up to celebrate the 78th Independence Day on August 15, BMC has left everyone in awe with the tricolour illumination at the Tansa and Modaksagar dams. These dams are the two major dams that supply water to Mumbai. And as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, BMC decided to light them up with the colours of our national flag.

The civic body took to social media to share awe-inspiring views of the water flowing down the dam with saffron, white, and green lights adding the tricolour effect on the water flow. In the post, they added a caption, “Spectacular views of the tricolour illumination on Tansa and Modaksagar, two major dams that supply water to Mumbai, as part of the Gharo Ghari Tiranga (Har Ghar Tiranga) campaign.”

This tricolour illumination at the Tansa and Modaksagar dams is part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. Launched during Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in 2022, the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign is back this year as well. This campaign urges people to hoist the national flag at home during the Independence Day celebrations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce the 3rd edition of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and asked people to share selfies with the national flag on the website as well.

Also, the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ caller tune is back. If you haven’t noticed already, the caller tune greets a caller whenever they place a phone call. If you wish to take part in this campaign, then you can hoist the national flag at your home and share a selfie with it on the website harghartiranga.com. Once you open the ‘click to participate’ and fill in the required information and pictures, you will be able to download the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ certificate as well.
