Tulsi Kumar Talks About Her Journey & What Got Her Interested In Music

This episode of Sunday Brunch was quite musical. Why? Because our Editor-in-Chief Kamiya Jani got to have some delicious home-cooked food with the talented singer Tulsi Kumar! We talked about everything, from her lavish life in Delhi to her journey in the music industry. We also got to relish some delicious Delhi-style palak patta chat, Tandoori Dal and khasta rotis! We also got to listen to Tulsi gush about her father and how she wants to make him proud.

Tulsi Kumar Talks About Her Journey And What Got Her Interested In Music

While enjoying super crisp or Khasta roti with a delicious array of vegetarian fare, Kamiya asked Tulsi about her journey in the music industry. Tulsi Kumar revealed that she was always musically inclined, not least because her father was the founder of one of the biggest music companies in Bollywood, T-Series.

She said she used to participate in a number of singing competitions when she was young. Soon, it became obvious to her father that given how much she enjoys singing and how good she is at it, she should be given proper training.

So, she was trained as a singer at Suresh Wadkar’s academy in Mumbai at the age of 6. In addition to this, she also mentioned that she grew up in the music of movies like Bombay, which informed how her voice sounded. Many people mentioned that her voice sounds like she is from the ‘90s and that’s probably why.

The topic then moved from her journey to her father’s legacy. She gushed about how almost everything she does in life it is with the aim of preserving and forwarding the legacy he left behind.

Tulsi also said that no matter what she does, her father is always at the back of her mind. She loves his dad and it could not be more obvious!
