Turkey Rolls Out Digital Nomad Visa For Remote Workers

Joining the ranks of Spain and Italy, Turkey has become the latest country to introduce a Digital Nomad Visa for international remote workers. The Middle Eastern nation aims to attract tourists to boost tourism and economic growth of the country with this new visa programme.

For now, the programme is aimed at remote workers from EU countries, the UK, the USA, and Canada. This visa will be valid for six months to a year and can be renewed once or twice. They are inviting remote workers to work in beautiful cities like Istanbul, Dalman, Izmir, Marmaris, Bodrum, Antalya, and Fethiye.

Besides Spain and Italy, European countries like Cyprus, Czechia, Croatia, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Latvia, Malta, Romania, Portugal, the Netherlands, and Norway also have digital nomad visas.

Eligibility Details & How To Apply For This Digital Nomad Visa?

Coming to the most important part – who can apply for the Digital Nomad Visa in Turkey? Citizens from EU countries, the UK, the USA, or Canada aged between 21 and 55 can apply for this visa programme. You must have a university degree and a remote work setup. You can either be employed or have a business providing an annual income of at least $36,000 (₹30,01,878).

To apply for a Turkey Digital Nomad Visa, you can visit the website here. You can register and submit all required documents there. If your application is accepted, you will have to take your new Digital Nomad Identification Certificate to your nearest Turkish consulate or visa centre for further processing.
