On this fun episode of Sunday Brunch, our Editor-in-Chief Kamiya Jani visited the grand and gorgeous home of Tusshar Kapoor. We were surprised to find how humble the actor truly is and the ghar ka khaana he fed us was surely worth writing home about. We had a delightful conversation on a number of topics varying from his single dad life to his first acting job. And Tushhar was more than happy to share all of it.
Tusshar Kapoor Talks About The First Movie He Ever Made
We were on the topic of what it’s like to be an introvert in an industry full of extroverts when Tusshar Kapoor regaled us with the details of the first film he ever shot. When we asked him about it, we were expecting heartwarming anecdotes and joyful memories.
However, Tusshar Kapoor mentioned that his first film (Mujhe Kuchh Kehna Hai, 2001) was quite the opposite. He revealed that he had a “traumatic” experience when he shot his first film. This is because he learned it on the job and said that the director (Satish Kaushik) was quite skilled and particular.
The director would not hold back and would lay into Tusshar when he thought that he was not doing a good enough job. This meant that he had to do one take multiple times until the director was satisfied. He also mentioned that hailing from a theatre background, the director has a specific vision for each scene.
Why He Thinks Being An Introvert Helped Hone His Acting
He also mentioned that certain challenges he faced in his career were owing to the fact that he was an introvert. In an industry that thrives on extroversion, he found it a bit tricky to navigate. However, he felt that being an introvert helped him perform better on screen.
He said that he was able to unlock and discover such hidden parts of him that even he didn’t know he had.
