Dubai Hotels Obtain A 15-Year High Occupancy In March

Despite the global pandemic, UAE saw highest occupancy in hotel bookings in 15 years, thanks the the Expo 2020 Dubai. The average occupancy rate in hotels rose by a huge margi n, with Dubai recording the highest occupancy rate of 80.7 percent. According to data published by CBRE, Ajman recorded a 77.9 percent occupancy rate in the month of October, the highest of all the emirates.

The Dubai International Airport Also Saw A Recovery In The Recent Months

The rebound in tourism comes as Dubai International Airport has also seen a sustained recovery in the recent months. In the month of November, Dubai’s percentage increase in the average number of daily flights was almost three times higher than the occupancy seen globally. Dubai International also expects to return to full operational capacity in the coming weeks.

UAE Is Playing A Leading Role In Global Tourism Recovery

The positive performance reinforces the leading role Dubai is playing in global tourism recovery, underscoring the city’s enduring appeal as a must-visit destination and reaffirming its commitment to ensuring the health and safety of all residents and visitors. According to the data published by Dubai Tourism, the emirate received more than 1.7 million visitors between July and December 2020 from open markets, and an additional two million visitors in the first five months of 2021.

The evolving travel landscape has brought forth some noteworthy performances from feeder and emerging markets, especially CIS countries like Kazakhstan and Ukraine, and East African markets Ethiopia and Sudan, that have all exhibited strong growth potential to be among the top 15 source markets for Dubai since it reopened its doors to global travellers.
