UAE Launches 10-Year Blue Visa’s First Phase; Here’s How To Apply!

The UAE just took a bold step towards a greener future with the launch of its first-ever Blue Visa, a long-term 10-year residency permit for sustainability champions. In a world where climate change dominates headlines, this visa isn’t just another permit, it’s a powerful nod to those leading the charge in environmental protection. The first phase is now officially live, offering 20 sustainability innovators and thought leaders the chance to be among the first recipients. If you’re a researcher, activist, or global award winner in the field of climate action, this could be your golden (or should we say blue?) ticket to long-term residency in the UAE.

Why the Blue Visa Matters

First announced in May 2024, the Blue Visa aligns with the UAE’s vision of becoming a global hub for sustainability. It follows the success of the Golden Visa (for investors and top talent) and the Green Residency Permit (for skilled professionals), proving that the UAE isn’t just talking about climate action, it’s rewarding those making a real impact.

Dr Amna Bint Abdullah Al Dahak, UAE’s Minister of Climate Change and Environment, called this move a game-changer in positioning the country as a leader in sustainability.
