The UAE is unlocking with time. After reopening for tourism across the country, the country is set to allow employers to hire staff from abroad. This move is initiated for the first time in seven months. However, not this new update is not valid for everyone. For the time being, only government departments and sem-public sector firms can secure work permits for new arrivals. Meanwhile, here the updated list of fines in the UAE that you must know about.

This Move Was Announced By Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship

Apart from them, families can also start the process of work permits for domestic workers who are arriving from outside the country. This move was announced on Monday by the country’s key immigration agency, the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA). The authority also stated that this process is essential for several sectors such as health care, transport and sanitation.

Domestic Workers Looking For Jobs Can Also Apply For The Work Permits

Amid the pandemic, employers have been able to hire people from abroad, depending on the circumstances and profession. But it has been challenging to let foreign workers into the country due to the pandemic. In terms of work permit, domestic workers who are actively looking for jobs will also be given work permits. Work permits for those already residing in the country have also been renewed recently.

Work permits are issued for two months during which a sponsor must change the employee’s status to residence visa, which allows them to live in the country for typically two or three years. This work process had come to a stall for seven months to limit the spread of the covid-19 virus. But now as the country is slowly unlocking, it’s letting the citizens get back to their regular lives at a slower phase than usual.
