UAE’s First Commercial Gaming And Operator License Awarded To Wynn Resorts; Details Inside

Wynn Resorts has been creating a stir ever since it announced the ambitious Wynn Al Marjan Island in UAE. And now, this hotel and casino has created history by being awarded the first-ever ‘Commercial Gaming And Operator License’ in the UAE. Yes, the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority has confirmed that it has awarded this license to the hotel and casino operator.

Wynn Resorts Get UAE’s First Commercial Gaming & Operator License

Bringing a Las Vegas-style casino to Al Marjan Island, the Wynn Resorts has been awarded the first ‘Commercial Gaming And Operator License’ in the UAE. As reported by Khaleej Times, it’s expected that this resort will open to the public in early 2027. As such, the massive project is currently under construction on the island, which is spread across 62 hectares, extending into the Arabian Gulf.

Not The Only License Awarded By GCGRA

While no details were offered by the GCGRA regarding the license, it’s worth mentioning that this is the second license that has been issued by GCGRA. In case you weren’t aware, it is an independent executive entity in the UAE Federal Government that regulates licenses and supervises all commercial gaming activities and facilities in the nation. For instance, in July only, the gaming authority awarded the license to operate the first authorised lottery in the country to The Game LLC, which is based in Abu Dhabi.

More About Wynn Al Marjan

For those who are still not aware, Wynn Al Marjan Island is one of the most highly anticipated projects. There will be several non-gaming amenities here that will be a major draw for visitors. With 1,542 keys, there will also be 22 private villa estates, which will make vacations all the more exciting for families. Not to mention, it will also be the first Wynn Resort out of the six properties, which are in Las Vegas, Macau, and Boston Harbour that will be coming up on a beach.
