Uber, the go-to travel solution that lets you book rides easily, has now launched a new range of features to make your journeys even simpler. The best part? They have also unveiled an all-new ‘Simple Mode for Seniors’ that makes ride bookings easy and straightforward for older adults. Read on to know more.

Uber Launches ‘Simple Mode For Seniors’

Uber has launched a suite of new features to make rides even simpler, affordable and accessible for millions of people in India. The rollout includes features like ‘Price Lock’, ‘Wait & Save’ and ‘Airport Priority Access’. But what stands out is the new ‘Simple Mode for Seniors’, designed to make travelling independently a lot easier for older users. Uber India also shared this news on their official X account.

This new mode is specially designed for older adults and offers a simplified app experience. Instead of the standard app layout, it comes with larger buttons and fewer booking steps. It is aimed at seniors who find it tough to use technologically advanced apps and usually need help. This way, they can book rides on their own with ease. Not just that, but this mode also includes real-time trip tracking for families, as well. Furthermore, its layout will also be less cluttered, making it easier to navigate through the booking steps.

New Features To Make Commutes Comfortable

Apart from the Simple Mode for Seniors, Uber has also introduced the ‘Wait & Save’ option. This offers riders a lower fare if they are willing to wait a little longer for their cab. Another feature, ‘Price Lock’, allows users to lock in the fares on their most frequent routes, especially during peak hours.

In addition, Uber has introduced ‘Uber Pet’, a dedicated option that lets riders travel with their dog or cat. This makes travelling with pets much easier. A new ‘Courier XL’ mode has also been added. It allows users to send heavy parcels up to 750 kg, including furniture, appliances and bulk deliveries. Until now, Uber only supported parcels up to 5 kg. This new upgrade will surely benefit many businesses.

As per the press release, Prabhjeet Singh, President of Uber India & South Asia, said, “At Uber, we are always looking to meet the evolving needs of Indian commuters – where they are, and how they move. These features are designed to serve a wide range of needs, from daily savers who want smarter value to those who don’t mind paying a bit more for premium comfort. Whether it’s a metro connection, a reserved ride at the airport, or a simplified app for seniors at home – we’re raising the bar on everyday mobility.”
