UK Storm Henk: Floods, Power Cuts & Transportation Disruptions Cause Travel Chaos

The United Kingdom is currently grappling with Storm Henk. It has caused considerable chaos and severely hampered travel within the country. The UK is also experiencing strong winds and rain. Several flood warnings have also been issued and there have been multiple power cuts. The storm has also caused road closures which has hampered transportation. Here are all of the important details that you would need to know about this particular storm.

UK Storm Henk Causes Travel Chaos In The Country

According to an article which was recently published by the Hindustan Times or HT, the transportation services in the country have come to a standstill. It also said that hundreds of flood warnings have been issued.

The heavy rain has caused power outages as well. As per the article, the strongest gusts of winds were recorded near the Isle of Wight which is off England’s southern coast. They were recorded on Tuesday and reached 151 kilometres per hour.

Furthermore, the speed of the wind reached 131 kilometres per hour at the Exeter Airport in Devon. A whopping 294 flood warnings and 341 flood alerts were also issued. Warnings are when flooding is expected whereas alerts are when flooding is only a possibility.

David Beckham “Gutted” Because Of This Particular Storm

The former footballer David Beckham recently took to his Instagram account and shared an image of a tree that was destroyed by the storm. The text on the image stated that it could have been worse but that he was still gutted by this damage.

Videos of destruction wreaked by the storm have gone viral on the Internet. Residents have been advised to stay indoors.
