There have been so many news and reports regarding the Ola, Uber, and Rapido auto services in Bengaluru. Various reports stated that Karnataka people would not be able to use the services because of the extreme price of the auto rides. The Karnataka Transport Department received so many complaints about this and hence they submitted a notice to these app-based cab aggregators to stop their auto ride services in the city for a few days.
Are Ola, Uber, And Rapido Autos Truly Banned In Karnataka?
People are confused at the moment as the auto services of these cab aggregators are still running on the streets. The passengers are making reservations and auto drivers are providing rides in Karnataka. A lot of confusion is rising at the moment as a ban is undergoing in the entire Karnataka. Still, people are seeing Ola, Uber, and Rapido auto services on the road.
Everyone Is Not Following The Karnataka Government’s Ban On App-Based Cab Aggregators
Despite the ban by the Karnataka government, people are making online reservations on Ola, Uber, and Rapido applications and booking their auto services. The Karnataka government said these services to be ‘illegal’ from Wednesday. According to various reports, a lesser number of autos are providing auto services at the moment. Bengaluru has around 200,000 autos and currently, only about 100,000 autos are running and providing services to passengers.
Also, another reason for understanding that the number of Ola, Uber, and Rapido autos on the roads of Bengaluru has decreased is because passengers are waiting for more to get inside the auto. In many places in Bengaluru, the average waiting time is 7 minutes but now passengers are waiting for about 15 minutes in those places to get an auto from these app-based cab aggregators.

Even after the ban and announcing the service as illegal, some auto drivers are providing services in the state. On the other hand, other auto drivers are following the move announced by the Karnataka government. Many have stopped continuing their services.
B Sriramulu is the transport minister of Karnataka. He said that he has ordered the officials to seize Ola, Uber, and Rapido vehicles operating despite directions, according to a report of Livemint.
