An expert on the subject also shared that this comes as no surprise that marijuana is a much more harmful substance. A pulmonologist by profession, the expert & professor named Dr David Kaminsky pointed out a few things you shouldn’t miss out on!

Why Marijuana is More Harmful?

Dr David Kaminsky, who is also a professor, said in a news report that the lungs don’t understand the difference between burnt leaves and tobacco. Both substances affect the lungs adversely. Smoking can lead to several lung diseases, and one of them mentioned, according to a report by Mayo Clinic, is emphysema. As reported by USA Today, this disease is most common among marijuana smokers. So, despite whatever age one is, the disease will surely affect one if marijuana consumption is higher.

Findings After the Study

Well, this study should definitely worry you, if you’re someone who is more into lighting joints than cigarettes. As part of the study, scans of people’s lungs were done, who consumed marijuana and tobacco. It was then observed that the effects of this disease were much higher on weed smokers. These smokers have been consuming the substances from the year 2005- 2020. And they aren’t recent consumers. It was also based on how much each participant of the study consumed per day and in what quantity.

Experts also believe that a thorough understanding of what affects the lungs was also difficult to understand. This is because some of the participants were consumers of both marijuana and tobacco. Well, the report definitely raises a lot of questions and debates about legalising marijuana, which has been done in various countries around the world.

What do you think of substance consumption and if legalising it will actually benefit the consumers?
