UP Govt To Transform Lawayankala Into A River Tourism Site. Here Are The Deets!

River Ganga and the Gangetic plains are what define Uttar Pradesh, but most importantly, Prayagraj. The city is an important pilgrim centre for Hindus and is known for Sangam — a place where Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati rivers meet. And now the authorities have decided to transform the Lawayankala lake into a tourist destination. Here is all you need to know about this new river tourism site.

Prayagraj’s Lawayankala To Turn Into River Tourism Site

The Lawayankala lake in Prayagraj is a place for many Gangetic dolphins and other species. Also, this place offers you the experience of life on the banks of the River Ganga. To showcase these attractions, the authorities have decided to transform the place into a river tourism site. Since the place is of religious importance, there will be a Vedic tent city to give you the experience of Vedic life. Moreover, they will have houseboats, boats, floating jetties and catamarans. Just like the Dal Lake, houseboats at Lawayankala will offer overnight stay.

The islands of Dhuipur Kachhar, Gangapur and other river islands of Lawayankala will be a part of the Ganga Dweep project. To highlight the life of people living on the banks of the River Ganga, there will be a focus on yoga and meditation. And soon facilities like Ayurveda centres and yoga meditation centres will open.
