Is Agra, the city famous for the Taj Mahal safe for women? As per a report by India TV, Sharma tested the city’s emergency response system during her operation. Standing outside the Agra Cantt Railway Station, she dialled the police for help. Sharma told the police that she required help as she was stranded on a deserted road and was scared.
Calls Helpline As Distressed Victim To Test Response
The helpline operator asked the cop to stand in a safe place and noted down all the information regarding her whereabouts. Shortly after, she received a call from a women’s patrolling team. They assured her that help would be on its way and they would reach her location in no time. But Sharma informed them that she was testing the emergency response system and they passed the test.

Next, the police officer hitched an auto to check the status of women’s city in Agra. Only after he disclosed the fare, she got in. Without revealing her identity, ACP Sharma spoke to him about women’s safety. The driver stated that the police verified him and that he would start driving his vehicle in his uniform. On dropping off the officer at her location, he passed the test as well.
The X post mentions that ACP Sharma inspected both crowded and sensitive places in Agra by posing as a victim herself and using UP112. Activist Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj praised ACP Sharma’s initiative. She urged police teams in every city to step into the shoes of the common folk and understand the problems people face at night.
That’s actually the first right step towards women safety. Police in every city should do this. Become a common man and experience the city yourself to know the problems people face at night. Good Job by Dr. Sukanya Sharma https://t.co/Ni3vg1iqW7
