US Ambassador Eric Garcetti Visits Durga Puja Pandal

Eric Garcetti recently visited a Durga Puja Pandal in the very iconic CR Park in Delhi. A video chronicled his entire experience! He first paid respects to Maa Durga at the pandal and even participated in the aarti. The video shows him being adorned with the tilak on his forehead. It seemed to be quite a spiritual experience for him and we’re certain he would agree.

He even performed the famous Dhunuchi Naach! The dance is dedicated to Maa Durga and utilises clay incense burners to channel the divine energy of the goddess. He seemed to have the best time! Garcetti even watched a few kids perform at the cultural event and he even interacted with them! And of course, no pandal visit is incomplete without delicious food!

Since it was first posted, the video has received more than 290 thousand views and they just keep on increasing! It was posted on X (formerly known as Twitter).

He Relished These Popular Bengali Delicacies

During his visit to the pandal, Eric Garcetti got to relish a number of iconic Bengali dishes. He started with the mouthwatering street food Jhal Muri. We’re sure he appreciated its spiciness very much! He then moved on to trying the lip-smacking Kolkata Biryani! We are already drooling! But that’s not all that he relished!

He even tried some Fish and puri! And of course, no meal will be completed without dessert and since Bengali desserts are famed throughout the country, he had to try that! We spied a huge plate of tiny bowls filled with different Bengali sweets. Of course, Rosogulla was one of them! Well, it seemed like Garcetti had a lot of fun getting a literal and metaphorical taste of Indian Culture.

He shared the video along with a caption wishing readers Shubho Pujo. He went on to praise his experience in the caption and said that he was in awe of the cultural diversity that India houses within! We agree with the US Ambassador and are glad that he is getting to experience these amazing festivals!
