The newly appointed Ambassador of the United States to India, Eric Garcetti, visited Mumbai. It is notable that he visited Ahmedabad and all the amazing places there before coming to Mumbai. Eric met Bollywood’s King Khan, SRK, Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde, Asia’s richest man Mukesh Ambani, and other biggies during this visit. US Ambassador Eric Garcetti’s Mumbai Visit
US Ambassador Eric Garcetti met the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, on Tuesday. The two had a very insightful conversation as they spoke about their shared strategic policies on climate action, women’s workplace, and business.

The next stop he took was Mani Bhavan, Mahatma Gandhi’s home. He browsed through the archives of the Father of the Nation. He felt privileged to take a look into the guest book, which was once signed by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Coretta Scott King.

While in the neighbourhood, he also visited the newly inaugurated Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC). He met the cast of the Broadway classic ‘The Sound of Music’ and learned about India’s rich textile heritage.

SRK, Mangoes And More
The next thing on US Ambassador Eric Garcetti’s Mumbai itinerary was to meet King Khan. Yes, he met Shah Rukh Khan at his residence in Mannat, Bandra. The two discussed the impacts that movies from both Hollywood and Bollywood have across the globe.

Are you even in Mumbai if you do not gorge on some yummy mangoes in the city during the summer? Eric was delighted as he was given some delicious mango harvest by Purnima Khandelwal, CEO of INI Farms. The two had a great discussion as Purnima spoke about how they empower women farmers.

He also met Asia’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani, in Mumbai on Wednesday. The two discussed future economic cooperation between the US and India at this meeting, as well as Reliance’s achievements in the field of renewable energy.
