Alwara Lake In Uttar Pradesh Set For 4.4 Crore Eco-Tourism Makeover

According to The Times of India, the Uttar Pradesh government has approved the redevelopment of Alwara Lake in Kaushambi as an eco-tourism destination. Located in Alwara village near Manjhanpur, the lake spans over 400 hectares and offers strong potential for nature-based tourism.

Known for its rich biodiversity and tranquil surroundings, the lake is a designated wetland that attracts a large number of migratory birds each season. In short, the place has immense possibilities of being a great eco-tourism hub in the coming years. As per the report, the project has been allocated a budget of ₹4.4 crore. The work is set to begin after the tender process is completed.

As per the Times of India report, Uttar Pradesh authorities will redevelop Alwara Lake into an eco-tourism destination without compromising on its rich heritage of biodiversity. They will strike a balance between nature and tourism, without hampering the landscape.

Uttar Pradesh tourism board has proposed constructing a floating meditation centre as part of the makeover. They are also plans to make cafeteria, RCC (reinforced concrete) pathway with eco-themed benches, bamboo cottages, a watchtower, restrooms, and designated selfie points around the Alwara Lake. Also, survey work has commenced to explore the feasibility of water-based tourism facilities. So, if all goes well, tourists will be able to explore boating, water safaris, kayaking, and paddle boating.

The redevelopment of Alwara Lake as an eco-tourism site will also position it as a key destination within the Ramayana Tourism Circuit.
