Uttarakhand: New Rule! Vehicles Entering The State Must Now Have Dustbins Or Garbage Bags

There is hardly a parallel to Uttarakhand when it comes to beauty and natural landscapes. Owing to its beauty, people from all over the world are attracted to its snow-capped peaks and verdant villages. In order to protect its natural beauty from getting polluted by the high number of tourists in the region, the Uttarakhand government has passed a new rule. All of the vehicles entering the state will now have to have dustbins or garbage bags installed.

According to an article which was recently published by the India TV News, the new rule was introduced today, Thursday, 25 July 2024. As per the new rule, all of the vehicles that enter Uttarakhand necessarily have to have either garbage bags or a dustbin installed.

This is being done in order to prevent littering in the state. Many tourists carelessly litter in natural areas which not only spoils their natural beauty but also harms the environment. Hence, in order to curtail this harm, this new rule has been introduced.

As per Radha Raturi, who is the chief secretary, before issuing the trip card to a particular vehicle, it should be ensured by the authorities that the vehicle has either of these items. This is especially for the upcoming Chardham Yatra.

The article also went on to state that if any vehicle is found flouting this new rule, they will be fined. Hence, it is imperative that all vehicles carry garbage or dustbins. The state is blessed with immense natural wealth and hence, to protect it, the government is instating such rules.

The state has also been dealing with over-tourism and so, ensuring its sustainability is crucial. This is also a reminder to all tourists to be mindful of the places they visit.
