Uttrakhand To Host Tehri Acro Festival, India’s First For Paragliders; Dates & Details Here

The Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) is on their way to establishing Tehri as the global centre for paragliding. The start of paragliding activities in Tehri, including training and fun, will occur on this day. And the much-awaited Tehri Acro Festival 2023 will be India’s first International Aerial Acrobatic Show.

About Tehri Acro Festival

There will be 150 internationally recognised paragliders during the Tehri Acro Fest. All paragliding aficionados should take advantage of this festival to participate in aerial competitions and acrobatic exhibitions. The first paragliding event in Tehri will take place during the festival. The first-ever international aerial acrobatic show in India, the Acro Festival, will take place in Tehri from November 24 to 28.

We are looking at Tehri’s debut as the newest paragliding destination in India, offering training and recreational options. There will also be some of India’s top paragliders competing in the event.

This  Paragliding Take Off is one of the best locations in the world for paragliding because of its elevation of approximately 1400 metres and its box over the lake, which is over 1000 metres. The Festival will feature D-Bagging, Wing Suit Flying, Acro Flying, and Syncro Flying, among other activities. Everyone is welcome to attend this historic, one-of-a-kind event in India.

In order to increase employment opportunities, the event is anticipated to launch paragliding training programmes for anybody who is interested, particularly locals. One of the most significant initiatives carried out by the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board is this move towards sustainable tourism in Tehri. The primary goal is to have at least 100 paragliding pilots in Uttarakhand by the end of this year.

The goal of the tourism board extends beyond merely organising a fantastic event. Its goal is to develop and advance paragliding as a sport in India. Acknowledging the increasing demand for paragliding in areas such as Bhimtal, the UTDB has acted to provide residents with the necessary training.
