It has been over 4 years since when Indian Railways launched Vande Bharat Express. The statutory body has been successful in this regard and now there are 25 of these express trains functional in different parts of India. Now, the Indian Railways is working to launch “Vande Sadharan” soon. It is coming up with great facilities at a cheaper rate. Here’s all that you need to know.

The official Twitter account of Indian Tech & Infra (@IndianTechGuide) took to the microblogging site to announce this new launch and shared some information about it.

  • This train will be a version of the already existing Vande Bharat Express, according to a report by Financial Express.
  • Indian Railways will design and manufacture the new launch.
  • The manufacturing process of Vande Sadharan’s coaches will take place at ICF Chennai, according to a report by The Times of India.
  • The location of the manufacturing of locomotives is the Chittaranjan Locomotive Works.
  • Also, it is being said that the train will be built at an approximate budget of ₹65 crore.
  • Vande Sadharan will be non-AC trains, unlike Vande Bharat Express.
  • The train will have a total of 8 unreserved & 12 sleeper class coaches.
  • It is expected that the ticket prices are going to be cheaper than the Vande Bharat ticket fare.
  • Also, there are expectations that a prototype of this pocket-friendly version of Vande Bharat Express will be rolled out by the 2023 end.

  • The TOI report states that this train will have upgraded second-class unreserved coaches.
  • Also, Indian Railways will manufacture second-class 3-tier sleeper coaches too.
  • According to online reports, the amenities will be similar to Vande Bharat trains.
  • Vande Sadharan will run with locomotives at both ends of the train.
  • Locomotives at both ends of the Vande Sadharan will help the trains to utilise the push-pull technology.
  • With such enhanced technology, trains will have the power to accelerate faster.
  • Another great advantage of having locomotives at both ends is that there will be no requirement to reverse the locomotive at the end station. This will help in saving a lot of turnaround time as well.
