A bus faced a terrible accident near Venice while carrying passengers to a campground. The Italian authorities shared that the tourist bus travelling from Venice crashed terribly and was seen plunging in a miserable condition from an overpass nearby. The destination of the passenger bus was a campsite at Marghera on Tuesday. En route, it met with an unimaginably horrifying accident at an elevated street in Mestre, according to a report by The Independent.

Taking to the X (formerly Twitter) platform, Luigi Brugnaro shared a scary glimpse from the accident place.

Several reports state how the vehicle diverted its direction on the road and met with the tragic accident. It crashed and fell close to the railway lines, according to a report by MoneyControl. The tourist bus was carrying a total of 40 passengers. 21 passengers passed away due to the crash and 18 suffered injuries. Among the 18 injured tourists, some got hurt badly faced severe injuries, and were in critical condition. The injured ones were rushed to hospitals quickly for treatment.
Several pictures and videos of the crash are making rounds on social media platforms. The clips clearly show how the bus crashed, fell down, overturned, and caught fire as well.
Many officials talked about the accident and said that the crash occurred in a raised area in the overpass.
In a conversation with the Radiotelevisione Italiana, Luigi Brugnaro, the mayor of Venice called the bus accident and the aftermath to be apocalyptic. He further added how the accident is an appalling tragedy and the city is in mourning.

Luca Zaia, Veneto’s President talked about this bus accident and shared how people of different nationalities are the victims of the Tuesday bus accident. Over 20 ambulances rushed to the accident spot to rescue the victims and rush them to the hospitals in nearby places such as Mestre, Mirano, Padua, and Treviso.
